The Fourth of July is an incredible holiday, actually one of our favorites at Fontis. It’s not only a great day for cooking out with friends, hanging out at the lake or running a road race … it’s also a day to say thanks to the men and women who serve our great country! At Fontis we say thank you to those who allow us our freedom and we are excited to be taking part in several 4th of July events from Woodstock to Powder Springs!
In Acworth, Fontis will be taking part in the city’s 4th Celebration. The City of Acworth and the Acworth Business Association are proud to present one of the largest fireworks extravaganzas in Metro Atlanta. On Monday, July 4, there will be live music and fireworks at Cauble Park. The Paul Hand Band will take the stage beginning at 4:00 p.m. followed by Destination at 6:00 p.m. leading up to headliners “FLASHBACK” at 8:00 p.m. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. Admission to the concert is free; however tables are available for the July 4 concert. Tables are $50 each for City of Acworth residents and $60 for non-residents. You can still purchase a table through Wednesday, June 29 by visiting the Parks & Recreation Office located at 4762 Logan Rd. Acworth 30101.
In Powder Springs the city will host its its 16th Annual Independence Day Celebration on Monday, July 4. The day will feature live entertainment, great food, a variety of children’s activities and a fantastic fireworks show. The entertainment will begin at 4:00 p.m. with a concert given by the Mustangs beginning at 6:15 p.m. and the fireworks will be at dark. There will be a variety of activities for the kids as well.
Fontis will also be on the Marietta Square for the city of Marietta’s Fourth in the Park celebration which begins Monday, July 4, 2011, at 10 a.m. and includes a parade, free live concerts, museum tours, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and fireworks finale.
And if the Peachtree is not your style, why not take part in the Woodstock Freedom Run 5K/1 mile. The race begins at 7:30 AM in downtown Woodstock and following the race, runners are encouraged to stay and enjoy the arts and crafts, parade and entertainment.
We hope to see you at one of these great events and Happy 4th of July!
