Water is beneficial to all cells in the body, without it, our bodies do not work properly. Here are examples of why drinking plenty of water is important to our health.

*Water is essential in preventing heart disease and strokes. Hydration keeps arteries of the heart and brain clot free.

*Water is beneficial in treating hypertension

*Water helps the body naturally replace serotonin which helps prevent depression.

*Dehydration can cause brain damage which can lead to conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and Alzenheimer’s disease.

*Water is useful in preventing and treating sleep disorders. It is crucial in the production of melatonin which regulates sleep. If you want to catch more zzz’s, drink more water!

*Water gives you energy! Water generates electrical and magnetic energy in every cell in the body, providing a natural power boost

*Water is essential for the skin. Proper hydration prevents sagging, aging, crows feet and wrinkles.Want to look young and refreshed? DRINK WATER!

*Water is cleansing and helps remove toxins from the body.

With all of these important reasons to drink water, how do you know if you are drinking enough?

It is recommended that the average person drink a minimum of eight 8 ounce glasses of water per day.If you are exercising the amount should be an additional 400 -600 milliliters to compensate for the fluids lost. Also, drink more water in the scorching southern summer months.

To be sure that you are drinking enough water, it is helpful and economical to use a refillable cup or bottle. My personal favorite is the Tervis Tumbler, I refill it countless times per day.
